Students 18 and older can volunteer with a charity or voluntary sector organisation in the UK. This gives students the opportunity to gain unpaid work experience in the UK, which they can use to train for their own professional development. Students can choose from a variety of sectors for their volunteer placement.
The Standard Visitor Visa gives all nationalities traveling to the UK the right to volunteer with a registered charity for up to 30 days (6 weeks) while they complete their English language course. Volunteering is not available during Summer School but is welcome at any other time of the year.
Volunteering is a great way to build English skills and add value to a CV or resume.
Please note that students doing the volunteer placement programme must also be enrolled in an English course at inlingua Cheltenham during the same period.
