Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English (FCTBE)

To respond to the rapid increase in demand for Business English teachers, we offer a one-week intensive programme of training to help you diversify your skills. To gain a formal qualification, the course concludes with a 2.5 hour written exam paper accredited by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examination Board.

The course is split into three key areas:

• Professional Skills: including needs analysis, course design, feedback and "the client approach".
• Materials and Methodology: including using authentic materials, classroom approaches, teaching groups and one-to-one.
• Business Concepts and Practices: an overview of the key issues in business

Most course participants have, as a minimum, an initial English teaching qualification (such as the Certificate in TESOL or CELTA). Some people have more extensive teaching experience and some also come to the course with previous business experience.
