This course is designed to help introduce or revise ELT classroom skills and is useful for teachers of English who want to develop their language teaching.
This course is aimed at non-native and native ELT teachers who may not have been teaching for a while and may wish to 'brush up' or refresh their teaching skills. Its is also aimed at non native teachers of primary school, secondary school or adult level learners engaged in planning and/ or delivering ELT programmes. The course aims to increase the participants confidence as teachers of English, providing practical ideas for the classroom whilst developing their language competence.
All participants to whom English is a second language should have a minimum language level corresponding to B2 in the Common European Framework.
The course can be taken in 3 ways:
Option 1) General English with TEFL Techniques:
This course is specifically designed for non-native English teachers, It can be taken as a 1 or 2 week programme. Participants will study General English in the morning to improve their language ability, followed by TEFL techniques in the afternoon to improve their teaching skills.
Option 2) 1 Week TEFL Refresher:
This option is aimed at both native and non-native English teachers. Participants will study TEFL techniques over a full time 1 week course, running Monday to Friday 9-5pm. This will cover the essential language teaching techniques.
Option 3) Two Week TEFL Refresher and Specialised Teaching Techniques:
This option is also aimed at both non-native and native teachers of English. Participants can study the TEFL refresher course for 2 weeks, full time, running Monday to Friday 9-5pm. This course combines essential English language teaching techniques with specialist teaching areas such as;Teaching Young Learners, Preparing Tests and Business English.
