This course enables the candidate to teach English as a foreign language and awards them with the Trinity Certificate in TESOL qualification which is one of the most widely recognised and respected professional TEFL qualifications available. You will become a fully-qualified EFL teacher, able to teach in any country in the world and the UK.
The Trinity College London Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages is ranked at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework.
The course equips candidates with the basic skills and knowledge needed to take up a first post as an ESOL teacher. The course gives an introduction to the theory and practice of contemporary English teaching and an insight into the challenges facing the learner and the role of the teacher.
This intensive course is full time and from Monday to Friday and consists of lectures, seminars and practical workshops. The course is available to both native and non-native speakers with an appropriate language level (IELTS 7+ or the equivalent).
Teaching practice is included throughout the course, the trainees will be observed teaching continuously over the 4 week period. Teaching practice is continually assessed and in the final week the students will sit a language awareness test and on the final day a moderator from Trinity College London will make the final assessment.
